Enough of you have been on my case lately, and now that we have wireless internet, I’ve decided it is time for an update.
If you haven’t seen Abby lately, you’re in for a treat. She is so SMART! I know, every parent probably says so, but we really think she’s something very special. She learns so much every day, and I can’t possible give a complete update of the changes we’ve seen in the last month, but I’ll do my best.
First, she has not used the potty chair again. She will, I’m sure, but after that first successful attempt, she has show little interest in trying it again.
Abby has had an exciting month. She spent a week with Grammie Penny when I went to Florida for work at the beginning of April. They had a great time - swimming in the pool, going for walks, and entertaining Mom’s friends.
Last week daycare was closed, so she got to spend Sunday - Tuesday with Gram (Anne) and Grampy (Art). She made several visits to the farm and those of you who know her well know that she LOVES animals. The pictures Art took are wonderful and I hope to get some up on the blog soon. Abby had great visits with Matt, Meg, Carole and Kenny and came home exhausted. She obviously had a great time.
Wednesday - Friday she spent the days with Mimi (Sue). They shopped, went out to lunch, gardened and played, and Abby slept very well on those nights too!
She is such a lucky girl to spend so much time with all of her grandparents!
Yesterday Adam, Abby and I went to Massachusetts to Auntie Em’s “Open House” for her new condo. Abby had a great time showing off for everyone. It was good to visit and spend the day with Grammie, Grampy and “Em”.
Just in case you’re one of the few people I haven’t bragged to about Abby’s vocabulary, here it is. Baby.com says that a 19 month old should be able to say between 10 - 50 words. Grammie Penny acutally started a list a few weekends ago, and it was well over 200. I’m guessing she’s somewhere around 250 now, and she is putting them togther in phrases well too! She’s big into possessives - Abby’s juice, Mama’s coat, Daddy’s shoes, etc. She also says “I did it”, “I got it”, “Mama do it” and “Please” and “Thank you” (although she still needs to be prompted from time to time. We’re woking on the “Thank you Daddy/Mama” phrase and she’s doing well with it.
Ok, ok, I know. Pictures. Here you go:
